Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a health coach and medical practitioner and nutritionist?

Health coaches honor the client as an expert in his or her life and believe every client is creative, resourceful and whole. The primary focus in health coaching is on creating actionable strategies for achieving specific goals. Unlike medical practitioners, health coaches do not diagnose, treat or cure diseases; they do however, address the root cause of the symptoms and guide their clients in holistic healing, addressing all areas of life. And, unlike nutritionists who tend to focus on the science of diet and calories, health coaches incorporate a variety of dietary theories into their practice and help clients figure out what works best for their unique body.

When coaching I look at a whole person, consider their whole life, and rather simply changing their diet, I will help them change their relationship with food. Working with a health coach is about adding more into your life rather than taking anything away.
